A prospective candidate will be responsible for specifying, developing, and maintaining the Hadoop Integration software product by extending our current Scalable Log Server. The prospective candidate will be responsible for integrating Hadoop Hive-SQL with the current MPP Database and Postgres.

 

The successful candidate must have proven track record in building JAVA based system level products.  The candidate will be working on integrating Hadoop HiveSQL into our product. Must have extensive experience of JAVA and multi-threading programming.  Experience with persistence layers, application servers, and web services required.  Strong analysis and debugging skills required.

 

Job Functions:

 

• Work on the internal of Hive SQL compiler and run-time engine to both extend our Postgres extensions and scalable log server to generate sophisticated query plans for our distributed architecture.

•  

• Research and design enhancements to Hadoop Integration.

•  

• Research and fix bugs to the product, document and write tests for fixes.

•  

• Evaluate current systems and propose changes to the design and or implementation

 

Required Skills:

 

• BS/MS in Computer Science

 

• Must be familiar with Hadoop and Hive SQL

 

• Must have proven Java experience

 

• Minimum 4 years of experience working on SQL compiler internals

 

• Minimum 4 years of Experience in query plan optimization

 

• Proven history of being a self-starter

 

• Expertise with enterprise applications

 

• Experience with a relational database

 

• Must be familiar with Linux (REDHAT) Operating System

 

Desired Skills:

 

• Experience in and C++ /C

 

• MapReduce experience

 

• Experience working on distributed systems
