Lead UI Software Development Engineer / UI Architect

We are a very well-funded, Series A startup based in Mountain View, CA. We have a strong founding team, plenty of money from top-tier VCs, and are less than 15 people.

We are seeking a Front-end developer with a passion for UI, with great HTML/CSS/ Javascript skills. The ideal profile combines deep experience in front-end development with a strong computer science background. You must be able to demonstrate prior experience on web sites you’re proud to show off for their polished UI, appropriate use of Javascript, and front-end optimized code.

Responsibilities

  • Complete ownership of the Front-End,  Responsible for developing the User Interface  that thousands of companies will use
  • Work closely with engineering, product managers and senior management to determine direction of product

Requirements

  • Senior level experience designing for web, mobile, and/or software products
  • Fluency in best practices for web/mobile information architecture and design
  • Experience using analytics and data to inform design decisions and improve products iteratively
  • Javascript – including jQuery and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience in rapid prototyping
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to own projects end-to-end

Bonus skills

 

  • Ruby on Rails/Current Rails/jQuery best practices
  • Async (e.g. Backbone.js, EventMachine, Node.js)
  • HTML5 fanciness (e.g. websockets, canvas)
  • Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS e.g. S3, EC2)
  • Having worked at/founded your own startup
  • Experience from Web Analytics companies and SaaS Big Data companies
